Who we are
Global Compass (myglobalcompass.com, individual.myglobalcompass.com and corporate.myglobalcompass.com) is a service of Greenberg Hameed PC, an immigration law firm in Toronto, Ontario. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Greenberg Hameed PC, and “you” means the person or employer using Global Compass. By using Global Compass you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
What Global Compass is, and isn’t
- Global Compass gives general information about Canadian immigration and preliminary assessments based only on your answers and on rules our lawyers approve.
- It isn’t legal advice or a full legal opinion. Using it doesn’t create a lawyer and client relationship with Greenberg Hameed PC; that only happens if you sign a written agreement with the firm.
- It isn’t part of, or endorsed by, the Government of Canada or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Only the government can approve an application, and nobody can promise you an approval.
- Immigration rules change. We monitor the official sources our rules rely on, and every report shows the date its rules were checked, but always confirm the current requirements before you apply.
Your answers
An assessment is only as good as the answers behind it. Please answer truthfully and completely, and update your answers if your situation changes. If you give us information about other people, such as family members or, for employers, your workers, make sure you’re allowed to share it.
Your account
- An account is for one person, or one employer, and the details you give us should be accurate.
- Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- You can stop using Global Compass at any time, and ask us to delete your account.
Employers
Global Compass Corporate helps employers understand their options and keep track of their workers’ permits. The compliance tracker is a tool to help you; it doesn’t replace your own records or your responsibilities as an employer under Canadian immigration law.
Fees and payments
Starting is free. Where a service has a fee, such as the Preliminary Assessment, the price is shown before you pay, and payment is taken by PayPal on its own page. Legal services from Greenberg Hameed PC, such as a consultation or help with an application, are agreed and billed separately. If you have a question about a charge, contact us.
Using Global Compass fairly
Please don’t:
- give false information, or use someone else’s details or account without their permission;
- try to get into accounts, data or parts of the service that aren’t yours;
- copy the service or its content in bulk, for example with automated tools;
- interfere with Global Compass or overload it; or
- use it for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Our content
Global Compass, its questions, rules, guides and design belong to Greenberg Hameed PC. You’re welcome to use your own reports and share them with people helping you. Information from government sources remains theirs, and we link to it so you can check it.
Links to other sites
We link to official government pages and other sites to help you. We aren’t responsible for their content, which can change without notice.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Global Compass running and accurate, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and we may change, add or remove features.
Our responsibility
Because Global Compass gives general information and preliminary assessments, not legal advice, don’t rely on it alone for decisions about an application. To the extent the law allows, Greenberg Hameed PC isn’t responsible for losses that come from relying on it without advice for your own situation. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Changes to these terms
We’ll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If you keep using Global Compass after a change, the new terms apply.
